If you thought you couldn’t be surprised by headphones, then you were wrong. Let’s take a look at the Huawei FreeClip together, which surprises you from the first time you open the charging case lid.

Design: futurism in every curve

Interesting fact. Recently, manufacturers are increasingly trying to surprise users not with the technical characteristics of headphones, but with their appearance. Huawei, without exaggeration, has taken the position of a “locomotive” in this matter and is pulling the market with it.

Let’s remember Huawei FreeBuds 5, Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick and Huawei Watch Buds, always something unusual. So Huawei FreeClip is taken with its design.

At first glance, nothing new. A classic case, in our case in graphite color. There is also a beautiful pearlescent purple version. The shape resembles a sea pebble, which is very pleasant to hold in your hands. There is an indicator light on the front panel. When you open the case, you will hear a sound indicator notifying you of the charge level and connection to the charger.

Comfort: the basis of headphones

Once again, and without undue modesty, these are one of the most comfortable TWS headphones in the personal opinion of the author. They do not put pressure on the auricle and do not weigh down the ear. Girls should especially appreciate the latter. If you decide to go out wearing beautiful, but very massive earrings, the extra grams from headphones will cause inconvenience. Here, no inconvenience and even an additional decorative element in the ears.

Of course, Huawei FreeClip may not be suitable for everyone. No one has canceled the individual characteristics of the ears, so it’s definitely worth testing the headphones in the store. At the very least, look at their unusual appearance.

The main convenience is that the headphones can be moved around the ear, adjusting their position higher or lower and affecting the volume of the sound. At the same time, no matter how you arrange them, if necessary, you will still hear what is happening around.

Operation and management: everything is extremely simple

One of the main advantages of Huawei FreeClip is their interchangeability. There will be no more confusion between the right and left earphones, because they are identical. You can insert any earphone into any ear, and the system itself will calibrate it by determining the side. As soon as you return the headphones back to the case, they will reset, forgetting which of them is “right” and which is “left”.

Familiar gestures can also be used with Huawei FreeClip, despite its unusual form factor. By default, you can triple-tap to switch between songs. Double tap starts and stops playback while in listening mode, or answers and ends a call when ringing. Another plus is the ability to connect two pairs of Huawei FreeClip headphones to Huawei smartphones and tablets running EMUI 13. In this case, you can quickly switch between making calls on your smartphone and listening to music or watching a movie on your tablet.

All gesture settings can be customized in the Huawei AI Life application, which is available for Huawei smartphones, as well as devices based on iOS and Android.

The Huawei FreeClip case is charged via a USB-C cable (there is no wireless charging). After 10 minutes on the wire they can work for 3 hours. And in just 40 minutes the case will be charged 100%.

In general, each earphone can work for about 8 hours (5 hours of talk time) on a single charge. Taking into account the charged case, you can count on 36 hours of continuous operation.

Sound: what you love

Sound is also a very individual issue. But you can’t argue with the fact that Huawei FreeClip sounds good. The “tops” and “bottoms” are audible, but do not shout over each other. The latter are definitely better heard in the plugs, but this cannot be considered a disadvantage.

Most likely, at first you will not be left with the feeling that sounds are heard not only by you, but also by everyone around you. I spent several days asking my friends if they could hear any sounds and pulling out my headphones to check. Believe me, even the most “shameful” and favorite tracks from your media library will not be heard by your neighbors on a plane or bus.

If Huawei FreeClip performs well in a space without obvious external noise, then what happens in places like the subway or a noisy street. Let’s be honest, the noise reduction of “plugs” will save you much better, FreeClip will also cope with external stimuli, but the listening volume will have to be raised.

Conclusion: listen to music and surprise everyone

Like any earbuds that are different from others on the market, the Huawei FreeClip is an extremely niche story. However, this is the case when “niche” does not mean “not for everyone.” On the contrary, Huawei has successfully combined a stylish and unpretentious design with all its experience in creating wireless headphones. Huawei FreeClips work for a long time, sound in their own way, without trying to please all lovers of rough bass, and at the same time they look so that not only guys will want to buy them. Girls will definitely want these for their birthday or March 8th, especially in the beautiful lilac color.
